Volvo India launches V90 Cross Country at ₹60 lac
Don’t call it an Estate. But we will
Is it an SUV? A wagon? An estate? A shooting brake? Should you care? The Volvo V90 Cross Country follows it’s sedan brother — the S90 — to market and adds even more to the prodigious feature list of its predecessor. And importantly, it does this at an ex-showroom price of ₹60 lac, which should leave luxury SUV manufacturers sweating. Also, it looks like it wants to hunt down Neo and put an end to this red pill nonsense.

Headlining the feature list is the new “p0wer pulse” twin-turbo system that ensures minimal turbo lag in the 235hp/480Nm diesel motor. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, as are paddle shifters. This is a significant bump over the 190hp/400Nm version of the motor in the sedan.
Unlike the sedan, the V90 CC has much more ability when the road ends. With 210mm unladen ground clearance, off-road trails shouldn’t be a problem. There’s a Haldex all-wheel drive system with an off-road driving mode, air suspension at the back and hill descent control to keep you safe and clean when the going gets dirty.

Thanks to the recent relaxing of regulations, cars in India are now able to use radar-based safety features — many of which are available in the V90 Cross Country, as they are in the S90. These include Adaptive cruise control, Lane keeping-aid, Collision Warning with full auto-braking for Pedestrians, Cyclists, other vehicles and large animals, Blind-spot detection with Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Collision Warning and Park Pilot Assist.

Volvo continues to offer some of the best value in the segment with a surfeit of standard equipment including a panoramic sunroof, 19-speaker B&W sound system, Nappa leather perforated upholstery, front ventilated massage seats, a powered tailgate, heads-up display among others.
Volvo also took the opportunity to inaugurate its fourth NCR dealership in South Delhi, taking its network up to 18 locations.
