Mercedes launches “Night Edition” A- and B-Class in India

Cosmetic tweaks keep the compact luxury contenders soldiering on

Mercedes-Benz India today, launched their “Night Edition” A- and B-Class compact luxury cars. In other news, people still want to buy the A- and B-Class. Essentially a cosmetic variant, the “Night Package” provides some blacked-out bits on the outside for a sporty flavour, while the “Urban equipment line” adds 17" alloys, some extrerior trim and dual exhaust tips.

Drivetrain bits remain common to the other variants, with a 1.6-litre 122hp and a 2.0-litre 136hp motor on offer for both cars. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (7G-DCT) is present, as are three driving modes. The info display is now a larger 8" unit, and supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are only 100 units of each Night Edition on offer for India, so walk briskly.

Prices (ex-showroom, Pune)

  • A 180: ₹27.31 lakh
  • A 200 d: ₹28.32 lakh
  • B 180: ₹29.34 lakh
  • B-Class 200 d: ₹30.35 lakh
